The Staff Accountant will be capable and experienced in accounting and be eager to cross-train and assist with processing accounts payable, general accounting entries and reconciliations, and payroll. Working behind the scenes at CityTeam is a calling, not just a job. The Staff Account will ensure good stewardship and protect the financial integrity of CityTeam. Process accounts payable transactions – invoices, check requests, expense reports, recurring payments.Ensure that all payment remittances are properly approved and codedEnsure that W-9s on file for independent contractorsRespond to inquiries from vendors and staff – research and resolve problems and communicate with vendors and staff in person or via phone or emailProcess weekly checks, issue stop payments and process voids as required2. Serve as manager of CityTeam’s debit card program including:managing debit cards, including activation and terminationreviewing weekly transactions to ensure adequate documentation and proper codingsubmitting monthly transaction reports to manager(s) for approvalfinalizing monthly transactions for posting into the general ledger3. Assist Accounting Manager with month-end close process including:Prepare monthly journal entries as assignedUpdate monthly account reconciliations as assignedFixed Assets, Cash Receipts, and other4. Perform payroll related functions as required5. Support the annual audit process including preparation of audit confirmations and supporting schedules6. Support the annual budget process, as requestedProvide excellent customer service to all stakeholders.8. Other accounting tasks including but not limited to charitable organization reporting, welfare exemption claims, property lease file management, insurance administration, and sales tax accrual and filings.PLEASE NOTE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties satisfactorily.
