| Job Description : | At ChemPoint, the Senior Accountant is responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual close of financial statements of North America and EMEA legal entities. Reporting and reconciliation of all intercompany receivables and payables with parent company (Univar) and subsidiaries. Responsible for maintenance of general ledger in Great Plains and Hyperion, including setup of new accounts and revisions to account mapping. BlackLine administrator for periodic account reconciliation and SOX control related tasks. Primary contact for auditors (EY and RSM) for PBC items in relation to ongoing annual and interim audits. A DAY IN YOUR NEW CAREER: Owns monthly general ledger and financial statement reporting, including journal entry preparation/review, intercompany transactions reporting and reconciliation and month end reporting. Internal leader of all audit functions, primarily PBC preparation and walkthroughs relating to: External Annual and Interim, North America (EY / EMEA (RSM) Annual bank (Bank of America) / Inventory (Hilco) audits Internal SOX audits: including SOX Effectiveness, SOX Walkthroughs and test Controls/Evidence. All other audits as requested by either internal or external auditors. Prepares annual and periodic tax package and provides support Ad hoc projects as needed. Has included preparation of audited financial statements for EMEA entity, project support, maintenance of general ledger and process improvement etc. Reconciles balance sheet accounts and communicates required adjustments to team members Mentoring team members on various accounting best practices, duties, and support DESIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree from fully accredited four year institution is required (accounting or finance degree strongly preferred); Master’s degree preferred. 4+ years of experience in corporate financial reporting, preferably including multiple currencies, legal entities, and ledgers (subledger, general ledger, and multi-ledger). CPA/CMA strongly preferred Excellent time management and prioritization skills, works well under pressure and multiple deadlines. Written and verbal skills including accounting memo research and preparation. Knowledge and experience working with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups, xlookup,sum if, etc.). Administration within BlackLine – managing reconciliation process, supporting completeness of ledger, assignment and reassignment of responsibilities, maintenance of PBC list and tasks. SmartView – can execute and manipulate queries and query dimensions for changes in information needs. Experience with troubleshooting and resolving data integrity issues within queries. Experience with accounting software (Great Plains, Hyperion, SmartView). Ability to work extended hours during month-end close.
