| Job Description : | Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or accounting Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) 3 years of relevant experience Job Summary As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will provide assistance to the Senior Payroll Tax Specialist, reconcile payroll taxes at the team member and company level, work closely with the tax service company to ensure compliance and work closely with the Payroll team. Responsibilities Serve as the contact for unemployment tax filings, including updating rates in the HRMS system Resolve issues related to tax return filings, including penalty notices and abatement requests Maintain responsibility for processing quarter-end and year-end tax jobs within the HRMS system, including W-2 processing Ensure team members on visas are set up correctly for taxes Register new companies with state and localities Work with external auditing companies to gather documentation for payroll, tax, workers’ compensation and unemployment audits Collaborate with the Accounting team to gather documentation to obtain WOTC credits Work with the Relocation team to ensure proper taxation of moving expenses Resolve team member tax issues, especially when unique circumstances require system modifications Ensure tax compliance through regular audits Who We Are Rocket Companies® is a Detroit-based company made up of businesses that provide simple, fast and trusted digital solutions for complex transactions.
