Description:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for preparation and analysis of payroll accounting entries and account reconciliations, bonus and commission calculations, as well as payroll compliance related to federal, state and local payroll tax filings for the company’s in house payroll processing and third party payroll processing. This position reports to the Payroll Manager
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Join and quickly assimilate into a high-performing, cohesive team in a rapidly changing environment to deliver high quality service for our valued employees.
Calculation of monthly bonuses and bi-weekly commissions for multiple compensation plans and preparing the necessary journal entries to record appropriate accruals.
Monthly preparation of account reconciliations for payroll-related accounts in the general ledger
Periodic support of payroll advance processing
Support and process timely tax filings with the Payroll Compliance Manager.
Assist in leading all payroll compliance related activities.
Assisting the Payroll Manger as needed; working on year end filings, annual audit and special projects as management requests.
Support the high volume of in-house payroll processing.
Research and implement changes for payroll regulations and tax compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have a supervisory role.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field. Minimum 2 years of accounting/finance/payroll experience.
Skills and Abilities
The candidate will have excellent communication including written and verbal skills, knowledge of basic accounting principles, the ability to analyze figures and basic mathematical ability. Successful candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach to problem solving, effective organizational skills, and the ability to establish priorities and to multi-task. The successful candidate will also be proficient in Microsoft Office products Excel, Access and Word.
