||The Junior Accountant role is a member of the Accounting team and is responsible for accounts payable (AP) and other related accounting tasks. They will report to the Chief Financial Officer. The Junior Accountant will ensure effective and efficient accounts payable procedures, operations and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position is located in Seattle and can be hybrid with remote and on site work.As the Junior Accountant (AP) you will:Manage the accounts payable process, sub ledger, vendor payments, and company credit card statements.Ensure timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the obligation and gathering appropriate backup.Process the back-end components of payroll including coordinating with Human Resources. Responsible for final submission of payroll to payroll processor, and processing of related payroll liabilities.Coordinate with Program teams and employees in collecting, paying / filing expense reports in an accurate and timely manner.Participate in the month close process through preparation and posting of documents into the accounting system related to accounts payable.Assist in the preparation of the accounts payable components of the annual audit and tax return.Update appropriate financial records via accounting software.Operate in compliance with statutory, regulatory, and/or other financial requirements including generally accepted accounting principles.Maintain Contract files for the agency.Other duties and tasks as assigned.About PROVAILPROVAIL was founded in 1942 by parents of children with cerebral palsy. Experience in both AP preferred.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels within the organization and with external customers.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft GP/Dynamics accounting software.Ability to multitask and attention to detail.Have an ability to prioritize daily, monthly and quarterly tasks.JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT (AP) COMPENSATION & BENEFITSThis is a full-time position with a starting pay range from $24 to $26 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
