Republic Finance is seeking an Internal Auditor to join the team! This is a highly visible position that will allow to you to interact with branch staffs and supervisors across our company. You will gain additional knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern our ten state footprint and exposure to the best practices that our operations teams has developed to achieve success and excellence.
This position requires 25% travel including branch visits and periodic visits to Centralized Operations in North Carolina, Texas and Louisiana. Ability to carry out job duties with minimal direct supervision is essential. Job responsibilities are as follows:
Perform audit processes for financial, operational and compliance audit projects across all locations of the company
Ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and procedures as well as state and federal government regulations
Ensure the Company achieves internal control goals through identification of process, control and compliance weaknesses, fraud, waste, abuse or misconduct
Provide feedback to management as requested. Make recommendations for improvement in all areas of responsibility
Prepare well-documented work papers, draft complete audit reports, and communicate results timely and effectively
Keep Audit Director informed of the progress and results of the audit work
Assist the Audit Director in formulating and maintaining a process evaluation program and in the development of the Annual Audit Plan, and related projects as required
Requirements:
Two + years in the consumer lending or financial services industry preferred
Three years of experience in the fields of auditing or accounting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CIA, CPA, CFE, or CISA certifications a plus
Strong analytical skills
Must work independently, on multiple concurrent projects, with minimum supervision
Excellent verbal & written communication skills are a must, including the ability to write and edit effective audit reports
Must be exceptionally well organized. Excellent time-management skills; Ability to prioritize own work, set priorities and meet critical deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Ability to make sound, independent judgments within established guidelines
Ability to exercise good judgment in various audit situations
Must safeguard the strict confidentiality of files, records, and documents
Must possess the discretion and temperament suitable for maintaining working relationships at all levels of the organization
Ability and desire to work with others in a cooperative, positive and constructive manner
Travel 25%. Reliable vehicle required. Mileage reimbursement and Company credit card provided for all eligible travel expenses. Hybrid schedule when not traveling.
Proficiency in relevant computer applications and automated systems (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, knowledge of MS Access is a plus)
