| Job Description : | Job descriptionThe Sr. Accountant supports the Controller with a wide variety of functions which include transactional processing, financial analysis, annual budget development and monitoring, cost allocation, monthly forecasts, program and annual audit support and the implementation of financial and compliance controls. S/He serves as a key resource for the organization and provides daily financial oversight to ensure that the financial records are complete, accurate and comply with generally accepted accounting principles, policies, and regulations, to facilitate solid decision support. S/he will report to the Controller and proactively and cooperatively works with HQ management and staff to implement solutions as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with or responsible for:In charge of monthly and year-end financial closing processProcessing and posting of journal entries for routine transactions and ensure accuracy of the General LedgerMaintenance of fixed assets registerPreparation and management of supporting schedules for specific general ledger accounts.Analyze and reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basisManagement of certain aspects of accounts receivable, cash receipts, and banking activities, including the review and custody of supporting documentationCross training on accounts payable, cash disbursements, cash receipts processes and payrollPeriodic review of accounting and financial controls and processes for the entire organizationInventory system maintenance, cost analysis and monitoringDeveloping and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and applicable regulations, laws, and best practicesCoordination and participation in annual auditsPerforming financial analysis as appropriate to support risk assessment and informed decision makingPerformance other duties on ad-hoc basis, as requestedGENERAL REQUIREMENTSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
