| Job Description : | Talascend is currently seeking a Cost Analyst for a contract opportunity in Houston, Texas (The position will be hybrid, with 2 days in the office a week to start) SUMMARY: Compiles cost estimates by collecting, monitoring, and studying data; recommending actions. Coordinates Purchase Order requisitions to support ongoing efforts. Tracks Statement of Work, Master Service Agreements and other documents as they move through approval process Assists program leads in ensuring policy and procedures for financial spend are followed RESPONSIBILITIES: Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data. Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts. Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions. Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management. Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data. Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data. Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials. Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements. Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience, in Business Administration related or similar area of study, and zero to three years previous experience. This position requires ability to demonstrate knowledge of the business and an ability to apply that knowledge effectively to a variety of situations. May require intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite as well as general business and/or accounting systems and subject matter knowledge applicable to the department assigned. This knowledge may include, but not be limited, basic accounting processes and procedures, project management, training within areas of expertise, and strong analytical skills and communication skills. #ind123 We thank all applicants for their interest.
