| Job Description : | Pomeroy Family Holdings, a company with a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate and alternative investments, is seeking a Corporate Controller for our office in Troy, MI.The Corporate Controller will be responsible to direct and oversee all aspects of the financial, investment, accounting and reporting functions for the owner entity companies.An ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate accounting, commercial banking and property finance, income tax reporting, strong leadership abilities and good people skills. Under the direction of the President and CEO, this position is responsible for applying professional knowledge and skills in the preparation, presentation, and analysis of financial and other decision-oriented information to assist with budgeting and financial reporting/planning/analysis/etc.OverviewPrimary responsibilities and requirements include, but are not limited to the following:Cash management and deposit account reconciliation for numerous entitiesMonitor cash balances and cash forecastsReview and understand partnership agreements and partner/investor waterfalls for income, fees, capital calls and cash flow distributionsTrack and record waterfall distribution payments from lower tier entitiesManage journal entries and accruals (purchase of assets, sale of assets, transfer of assets, loan refinance) in multiple entitiesPrepare financial statements and analyze performance in multiple entitiesBank loan reconciliationsFinancial reporting to owners, investors, and partners – monthly and quarterlyAssist with year-end tax compliance, successfully partnering with an outside CPA firm to prepare all federal income tax returns and all legal and corporate filings for multiple entitiesDevelop financial and tax strategy recommendationsReview and approve audits, tax returns, K1’s, and other tax-related mattersMaintains relationships with banking institutions, partners, insurance brokers, and tax advisorsOversee payroll/W-2s/1099s, Quarterly taxesPreparation and maintenance of quarterly real estate owned, cash flow and debt schedulesProvide analysis in the development and monitoring of short and long-term strategic financial objectivesEvaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, and introduction of new programs/strategiesEvaluate, design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls, accounting processes and policies for efficiency, cost effectiveness, and accuracyQualifications: Ideal Candidate would have the following experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance5+ years accounting experience with partnership accounting, including experience with waterfalls5+ years of professional experience in accounting role.
