Our Controller: The Controller leads the accounting team and owns all accounting results, processes, and systems at Namasté Solar. Along with the Director of Finance, the staff accountants, and external resources, this will be a critical person to help mature, improve, and develop the accounting infrastructure of Namaste Solar. A successful candidate will need to balance demands for accounting accuracy with the ambiguity and constant change of an evolving enterprise. What We’re Looking For: 6+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated ability to function at a controller or assistant controller level. Solar or construction accounting experience required. Solid understanding of construction WIP accounting and processes. Strong ERP systems experience, ERP systems implementation experience a plus, Intacct experience a plus. Excellent knowledge in assessing, developing, and implementing processes and internal controls. Experience building, developing, mentoring an accounting team (ours is a team of 4). Able to communicate complex concepts and risk factors to stakeholders and influence decision-making. Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Clear, precise communication style. Strong business acumen and analytical skills. Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, and a proactive approach to solving problems. Self-starter, results-oriented, has a positive attitude and drive to learn. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with Salesforce CRM a plus Location This position will begin as a hybrid between remote work and in our offices located in Denver, CO. Manage accounting staff. Motivate, coach, train, and mentor team members. Recruit and onboard new staff as needed. Oversee the accounting process for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, GL activities, consolidations, and compliance. Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP. Ensure that all financial statements and reports are completed in timely and accurate manner. Ensure that all monthly account reconciliations are performed accurately, completely, and on-time. Implement process and procedural improvements to optimize the workflow within the department. Develop accurate and timely analytics including cost reporting to support management decision making. Implement robust internal controls, monitor compliance, and maintain adequate documentation. Serve as an accounting systems expert. Revise processes and systems as needed to improve data transparency and usefulness. Manage the audit process and serve as the Audit Leader. Manage technical accounting questions and updates. Author accounting memos. Provide support for the annual budgeting and planning process. Manage registrations and oversee all monthly, quarterly, and annual federal, state, local, and ad valorem taxes. Manage internal Patronage and external dividend processes including maintenance of capital accounts.
