| Job Description : | P.J. Helicopters, a Quanta Services Company, is looking for an experienced accountant to oversee its financial controls and accounting team in the role of Controller. The Controller is responsible for activities supporting accurate financial record keeping and reporting in a dynamic, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)-compliant, public company environment. Core functions of this role include financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, fixed asset accounting, audit support, payroll support, and budgeting.ResponsibilitiesPrepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from financial systems and operational teams.Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.Maintain and balances ERP system by reviewing data and journal entries and maintaining required documentation to ensure system integrity.Review and approves fixed asset accounting functions such as inventory counts, documentation of fixed assets, and reconciliation of depreciation.Support payroll function through maintenance of employee master records and review of payroll entries.Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.Protect organization and employee privacy by maintaining confidentiality and discretion.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Assist in implementation of and compliance with internal controls including GAAP and SOX compliance.Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.SkillsWork experience as a Controller or similar roleThorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislationHands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsExperience with cash management and risk assessmentGood knowledge of accounting softwareAttention to detailAbility to work with tight deadlinesBachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, finance, or related applied business fieldCPA preferred5+ years of public accounting experience strongly preferredExperience with payroll processes and systems preferred (not required)Public company experience preferredJob Type: Full-timePay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Day shiftWork Location: One location |
