| Job Description : | Achieve Properties, an Austin based property management company has an immediate opening for a Controller. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. We are looking for someone who motivates others through a positive professional attitude; exhibits integrity, reliability and leadership; and is able to provide exceptional client services by managing self and others with a sense of urgency, practicality and accountability. As a leader, you will motivate others, foster an environment that promotes new ideas, works with a sense of urgency, and rewards for the same. This is an in-office position in Northeast Austin.Responsibilities- Manage the timing for accounts payable, reconciliation, and monthly reporting packages- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as process and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation- Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash- Give financial reports to executive management, investors, and other groups- Assure expectations of accuracy and timeliness are met by managing self and team deliverables- Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and methodologies- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysisRequirements- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement- Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills- Prepare Financial Statements experience required- Solid understanding of Month-end Close Activities- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges- Proven analytical skills – defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions- Prior work in multifamily property management preferred- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field- Advanced credentials such as a Master of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: From $86,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Project management: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
