| Job Description : | Controller (Cost Accounting Focus)Clean Air Products, a leading manufacturer of cleanrooms and related equipment for the medical device industry, is experiencing solid growth and adding a Controller to their team. Clean Air Products, located in Brooklyn Park, MN, provides quality engineering valued solutions to their clients in industries such as semiconductor fabrication, pharmaceuticals, medical device manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, food processing and nanotechnology.The Controller will be an integral part of the company operations and strategic planning team, and lead processes in cost accounting. The most effective candidate will have previous experience in a manufacturing environment and a desire to learn and understand our products, equipment, manufacturing processes and procedures.Responsibilities: Cost Accounting· Developing and managing job costing, establishing standard rates, and conducting variance analysis· Assisting plant inventory control, analyzing inventory variation on a job closed and inventory count basis and auditing inventory cycle counts· Calculating overhead rates· Developing final cost and closing on manufactured jobs.· Establishing standard cost monitoring and efficiency rates and standards· Monitoring waste factors· Reviewing job/work order review prior to close· Monitoring time and material discrepancies and inventory variations· Preparing and monitoring scrap rates for different processes and materials.· Preparing and monitoring scrap rates for different processes and materials.Comptroller· Reviewing and monitoring all accounting functions and staff· Monitoring General Ledger transactions· Assisting Sales Team on products pricing, quantity discount rates and new sales opportunities· Assisting in the monthly and annual closes· Preparing month end and year end reports and presenting to management.· Preparing (with assistance) monthly and year end closing for our outside firm· Leading accounting staff work and providing back up for AP and AR· Seeking and developing process improvement opportunities in both office and plant processes· Leading special projects as requiredQualifications: · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting· At least three years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment· Solid experience in MS Office products with proficiency in Excel· 1-2 years supervisory experience· Experience working in an ERP environment· Desire to work as a collaborative team member with sales, engineering, manufacturing, production, inventory control, and purchasing· Experience working closely with an outside accounting firm· Mechanical inclination and enjoying the manufacturing process strongly desired· Enjoy manufacturing.Physical RequirementsWe are a manufacture and this position will required going into the manufacturing plant to observe and learning our manufacturing processes, procedures, inventory control, purchasing and all aspects of the company operation.
