The cash reconciliations are a three-way match between bank deposits, transactions posted in Accounts Receivable sub system, and Oracle trial balance. The Cash Accountant will also be involved in unclaimed property reporting due diligence and escheatment process for multiple States.ResponsibilitiesThe Main ResponsibilitiesReconcile substantial cash accounts assigned through ReconNet (bank reconciliation software)Reconcile other cash accounts in ExcelPrepare monthly journal entries with supporting schedules for assigned cash accountsResearch, analyze and prepare variance schedules on substantial cash accountsProvide feedback on matching rules to Accounting Systems to drive process improvementsSchedule meetings with multiple Regions and Practices to communicate cash posting discrepanciesFollow up with communications until discrepancies are resolvedUnclaimed property – process due diligence letters as required by the relevant StateReview responses to due diligence letters and follow up with Payroll or Accounts Payable to void and reissue checks as neededPrepare unclaimed property reports for assigned States and coordinate remittance/payment requests with Accounts Payable or the Treasury departmentInvolvement in project improvement initiatives that lead to cash process enhancementsInvolvement in quarterly and annual audit and SOX testingPeriodically support and cross-train with other team members**REMOTE POSITION***Qualifications*Minimum Education and Qualifications*Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline or 3 – 5 years of related experience within a mid-size to large corporationProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsExperience in Oracle a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent time management skills with the ability and willingness to meet deadlines imposed by monthly, quarterly and annual close cyclesAbility to establish and maintain working relationships with individuals at all levels#MednaxCorp**Job Type: Full-time |
