The internal auditor’s role brings value to the organization by identifying gaps in risk mitigation, collaborating with management to identify opportunities for improvement, and providing timely reporting to assist management with informed decisions toward achieving objectives.⠀⠀⠀A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows:Performs audits of varying complexity through planning, risk and control analysis, fieldwork, and reporting;Provides insight to enhance operating efficiencies, control processes and risk management capabilities;Independently performs assigned audit testing and accurately reports conclusions on the design and effectiveness of the control activities;Identifies control gaps and exceptions from expected control activities and evaluates the potential impact;Apply research, analysis, and creative thinking skills to solve problems, investigate irregularities, and improve processes;Collaborates with management to perform root cause analysis on identified issues;Successfully multitasks audit activities by delivering results of more than one audit concurrently;Adheres to confidentiality requirements of the agency and auditing standards;Develops knowledge of federal and state laws and external source regulations and requirements relating to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles;Performs other duties as required, consistent with the objectives and responsibilities of the Internal Audit Department.⠀⠀⠀The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
