Job Description : This Auditor position is with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, Regulatory Audit and Agency Advisory Services (RAAAS).The duty location of this position is negotiable upon selection. Up to two individuals will be selected who will report to the Audit Performance & Excellence Division (APED) Director, Headquarters office in Washington, DC.Potential duty locations include:Atlanta, GABoston, MAChicago, ILDetroit, MIHouston, TXLong Beach, CAMiami, FLNew York, NYPhiladelphia, PASan Francisco, CAWashington, DCDuties and ResponsibilitiesThis position starts at a salary of $94,373 with promotion potential to $122,683.Typical work assignments include:Ensuring that all RAAAS audit staff meets continuing professional education (CPE) requirements and provide logistics to RAAAS staff nationwide for CPEConducting quality reviews of RAAAS Field Offices to ensure compliance with applicable Generally Accepted Government Auditing (GAGAS) standards, internal policies and procedures, and CBP laws and regulations. Providing written reviews of reports when requiredDeveloping, analyzing, researching, coordinating, and preparing for the issuance of policies, processes, technical guidelines and operational instructions for field audit staff application for continuous improvement and to ensure efficient operationsDeveloping training materials and delivering training based on mission, updated policies, procedures, processes, guidelines, and audit results to ensure requirements are understood by the auditorsRequesting and processing feedback from subject matter experts, field, headquarters divisions and other components for incorporation into new and updated policies, procedures, technical guidance, processes, special projects, and innovative solutions/new initiativesQualificationsBasic Requirement:A*. Education*–Degree: accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.ORB.
