Our office is centrally located in Phoenix AZ just south of Sky Harbor airport.RESPONSIBILITIESOversee all accounting functions and business systems for the Company’s multiple business unitsProduce the Company’s financial statements in coordination with the Business ManagerAct as liaison between accounting function and the business unitsAnalyze profitability for business segmentsAdvance controls, accountability, and business policies and proceduresReport to the Controller/Business ManagerSupport independent audit and tax accountants as neededBe part of the due diligence team analyzing merger and acquisition opportunitiesSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESInterviewing, hiring, and training accounting department employeesPlanning, assigning, and directing work while promoting a collaborative work environmentAppraising performance and supporting professional development within the departmentPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / SKILLS12 to 15 years of work experience in similar position with similar responsibilities including supervision of direct reports and a proven track record of successfully applying GAAP is requiredBA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline is required. CPA certification preferredMBA plus but not required.Microsoft Dynamics GP experience or similar accounting software requiredExperience working in one of the following industries: Construction, Engineering, or Professional Services is desiredHands on, self-starting, individual with ability to work independently in a high volume environment that requires a work product that is highly accurate and timelyHigh degree of integrity including ability to successfully deal with sensitive or confidential informationWell-developed analytic and problem solving skills with a high level attention to detailWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsWhat makes this position unique – we are looking for someone that views the Accounting processes as the first step in delivering value to the company.
