Job Description : Job purpose
Oversees the Accounting activities for respective ERP system, manages the team, monitors the process & work, accountable to ensure smooth on time and efficient service delivery, drives resolution of open issue, identifies improvements in processes & team set-up. Coordinates all accounting processes, serves as an escalation contact for accounting related issue, develops and implements an integrated strategy for accounting across systems, supports internal and external audit activities, ultimately responsible for accounting team. Coordinates all credit control and collection processes, serves as an escalation contact for credit control related issues, develops and implements an integrated strategy for credit control across systems, supports internal and external audit activities, ultimately responsible for credit control team performance and service delivery
Main accountabilities and tasks
Leading our remote finance staff with the BPO organization (Business Process Outsourcing) for A/P, A/R and G/L
Responsible for creating and maintaining all SOPs related to financial transactions: A/P, A/R and G/L
Overall accountable for accurately and timely executing closing procedures
Assigns and oversees resources and skills, monitors progress, and evaluates results of the completed tasks/projects
Ensures that the applied practices and procedures are compliant with applicable policies, laws and regulations
Accountable to ensure service delivery within agreed internal SLA’s and KPI’s
Accountable for timely resolution of issues
Coordination and follow up with various stakeholders
Supports the identification and implementation of improvements in the areas of accounting activities
Supports Controller
Managing the credit and collections policy and processes
Cash management, including regular forecasting
Liaison with internal US treasury for cash management systems
Financial statement preparation in centralized system
Travel and expense applications and transactional integrity
Sales commission reconciliation
Sales tax/familiarity with states’ reporting requirements
Liaison with internal US tax department for reporting requirements
Ensures application of accounting policies and procedures; maintains appropriate internal control standards in accordance with Sulzer Accounting Manual
Leads process standardization and harmonization initiatives in the area of accounting as directed by the global finance office
Supports internal and external audit activities by facilitating audit reviews, providing documentation, and guidance with regard to financial data produced by the accounting team; serves as an escalation contact for accounting and collection related issues
Desired experience and qualifications
Work experience: Five+ years of experience in Accounting of Finance
Education: Bachelor’s degree in in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Other:
Good commercial awareness and understanding of business
Good problem solving and organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and processes
Proficiency in the use of personal computers, especially word processing software, spreadsheets, presentation, and database software. Strong emphasis on Excel and skills should be advanced
IFRS knowledge or previous experience with a foreign parent company
Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task, perform work accurately and thoroughly and to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be self-directed and motivated to optimally utilize the available time to organize and complete expected work within given deadlines and reasonable work schedules.
Communication skills, both oral and written, as required to communicate effectively with others at all levels in the organization and to provide clear and concise reports and policies as needed. Ability to effectively present information publicly.
Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
Physical requirements
In order to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodations, the employee must be able to see, hear, talk, and use hands and fingers to operate computer hardware and peripherals. Employee must be able to lift up to 25lbs. on an occasional basis.
