Job Description : Snell & Wilmer, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the western United States is currently seeking a full time Accounting Manager in our_ Phoenix office_ . This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting of the firm.The ideal candidate should have excellent time management skills, proven ability to manage multiple small teams, ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and employees, and willing to receive coaching and feedback.Responsibilities* include, but are not limited to the following: *: Assist the Director of Accounting in overseeing a team of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Trust & Retainer, and Business Intake.Assist with journal entries related to payroll, benefits, depreciation, and other transactions.Investigates accounts payable and accounts receivable issues when necessary.Assists with regular internal controls audits and seeks process improvements to increase efficiencies, team cohesiveness, and protection of firm assets.Records and keeps track of firm income, deposits, expenses and assets.Manages AR and records deposits of accounts receivable payments into appropriate bank account(s).Reconciles and balances bank accounts, payments and receivables on a monthly basis, and conducts periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.Reconciles client trust accounts periodically, and records all necessary transactions.Assembles organized and accurate information for external accountants for tax preparation and accounting for the medical plan trust.Generates 1099s for the firm as needed.Coordinates and controls the retention of the firm’s accounting records, ensuring that all information is safely stored and available on short notice.Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.*Experience and Q*ualificationsThree to five years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and/or financial reports is requiredTwo to three years of management experience requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMaster’s degree and/or CPA preferred, but not requiredHighly proficient in Excel – macros a plusSQL coding and database experience preferredLaw firm accounting and proficiency in Aderant and Ultipro preferredProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) requiredSnell & Wilmer offers a competitive performance-based compensation and benefits package, including health and life insurance, 401K, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program.
