| Job Description : | Reporting to: VP of FInanceWe’re looking for an Accountant Manager to join our rapidly-growing team in North Miami, FL.We are looking for an experienced Accountant who has strong knowledge of US GAAP and is a hands-on doer willing to roll up their sleeves. Reporting to our VP of Finance, you will perform all accounting and treasury functions. You will be a foundational member of the accounting team focusing on the Company’s operational accounting processes and month-end close. This role will allow you to expand your already broad technical accounting skill set to help manage the day-to-day accounting operations of a quickly growing e-commerce furniture company.Ideally, you’ve got more than 5 years of experience with increasing responsibility in accounting, as well as managing staff and hold a CPA. Previous experience in public accounting and/or consumer goods, working closely with accounts payable and inventory, is highly desired. You should be incredibly organized, process-oriented, and comfortable prioritizing multiple work streams across daily responsibilities and long-term projects.If you’re passionate about joining a finance team at one of the fastest growing e-commerce companies, we’d love to hear from you!ResponsibilitiesEffectively maintain all accounts within the general ledger: revenue, cost of goods, operating expense accounts and balance sheet accountsManage Accounts Payable team to ensure that bills are processed, and payments are made timely. Evaluate effectiveness of current processes and seek out more efficient solutions.Ensure Inventory controls and accuracy in partnership with the Inventory Specialist.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedulesEnsure timely and accurate filing of annual 1099s and sales tax reportsControl all activities and systems involving management of cash resourcesAssist with the preparation of GAAP financial statementsStreamline processes for greater accuracy, financial control, and efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across all finance areasQualifications5+ years of accounting work. Preferably in eCommerce or retail.BS/BA degree in accounting.CPA or CPA candidate a plus.Experience managing teams.Working knowledge of ERP systems.A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.High Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickbooksSelf-starter and detail oriented.Excellent communication skills.Ability to work independently and multi-task.Attention to details, good organizational skills, and ability to perform efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced dynamic environment.YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAMBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance-related majorsExperience with Inventory-based Startup/E-commerce Company is highly desirableCPA or Public Accounting experience preferredProficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of accounting theory, GAAP, and internal controlsStrong communication skills–enjoys working with the accounting team as well as cross-functionally–representing the interests of the accounting team with other departments.Who is MODLOFT?MODLOFT has been designing, manufacturing and selling contemporary furniture since 2005.
