| Job Description : | POSITION SUMMARY:The Accounting Manager position supports both the commissions and GL teams. This includes reviewing and approving weekly and monthly commissions and carrier and vendor bordereaux payment files, reviewing and approving GL journal entries, and reviewing and approving reconciliations. This position assists with the annual and quarterly external and internal audits, ad hoc reports, and projects. Supporting the accounting team with the month end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and providing explanations for significant fluctuations is required. This position will manage a team of roughly 7 direct reports.Mostly a work from home position; however, candidate must be local to the Tampa market to intermittently work in the office.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead, coach, and train the accounting teamPerform general ledger account analysis and provide explanations for significant fluctuationsSupport internal and external quarterly and year end audit requestsDevelop complex ad hoc reports and financial analysesIdentify opportunities for process and/or system improvementsSupport the accounting team and provide guidance and/or assistance to ensure a timely and accurate month end close processReview and approve general ledger journal entries and reconciliationsReview and approve weekly and monthly commissions and carrier and vendor bordereaux payment filesEnsures all deadlines are met on a timely mannerWorks alongside department heads and analysts to provide reports to upper managementOther ad-hoc accounting dutiesProvides assistance to other coworkers as neededMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Arts/Science in Accounting or Finance requiredCertified Public Accountant license required5+ years general ledger/corporate accounting/public accounting required1+ year of experience managing an Accounting team is requiredExperience in public accounting preferredDemonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on ExcelAbility to maintain exacting attention to detail in a fast-paced and changing environmentEffective written/verbal/listening communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently with minimal daily direction to meet objectives and as part of a team on larger initiatives/assignmentsExperience working with private equity firms and public companies preferredJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Tampa, FL 33618: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Experience:Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:CPA (Required)Work Location: One location |
