Job Description : POSITION: AccountantREPORTS TO: CFO/ControllerFLSA STATUS: Part-time, Non-Exempt (25-32 hours per week; benefits eligible at 25 hours)PREPARED DATE: February 2022Summary: Under the direction of the CFO/Controller, the Accountant performs varied professional accounting work related to but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll, procurement and asset management, and assists CFO/Controller with the preparation internal and external reports.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Account Receivables: Prepare bank deposits; reconcile publication orders; cross-trained to enter contributions in Raiser’s Edge as needed; prepare Journal Entries for Financial Edge, including PrePost Reports.Accounts Payable: Enter invoices for Vendors in Financial Edge; prepare payment request forms for all departments; maintain vendor files and supporting documents including W9s; verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements; produce purchase orders; and maintain procurement records and documentation.Credit Cards: Prepare company-wide Credit Card expense allocation forms and assist with monthly reconciliation reports.Payroll: Prepare payroll cost allocation templates and corresponding journal entries; review payroll on a bi-weekly basis; assist with maintaining electronic time keeping system and troubleshooting web hosted timeclock.General: Assists CFO/Controller with various tasks including, but not limited to, Fixed Asset Schedule, inventory, compiling document requests for Auditors, and preparing 1099s,Qualifications and Experience: Four years of general professional accounting and budgeting experience is required.Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.Knowledge of nonprofit finance, accounting, budgeting, and with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control procedures.Experience with federal grants and procurment requirements/procedures perferred.Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems and applications (QuickBooks and Financial Edge preferred).Experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook required. Advanced Excel knowledge preferred.A collaborative and flexible style.Technology savvy is a must.RequirementsMust possess and maintain criminal background clearance.Must meet and show proof of immunization requirements including pertussis, measles, and flu, Covid-19 vaccination, clear health exam, and proof of TB clearance.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
